5 Social Media Do’s
1 - Create a good name
What’s in a name? Everything!! Make sure you create your profile under the name you want to be found under. Make sure the name is easy to spell and your bio points to what your business is all about.
2 - Focus on your strengths
Post, write, focus on your business strengths. Build your brand as well as your business. Make your feed relevant and engaging, show off how good your business is and post content that gets people wanting more.
3 - Be True to Yourself
If you're the best dog groomer in your area, don’t post about your breakfast. Make sure you are true to your business and yourself. Don’t compare your business to others; stay true to who you and your business are. Trying to be someone or something you’re not isn't sustainable and people will see through it.
4 - Success is not based on likes.
As much as getting a like on a photo is a great feeling, your success is not based on the number. Social Media is about creating awareness of your brand and building your success. It takes time and doesn't happen overnight. If you're committed to making it work and are consistent, you will see results. Don’t like your own posts either, it does more damage to your character than any good the one extra like does for your post. It shows you are like driven.
5 - Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Times are always changing and although Instagram is a great platform to be on now, tomorrow it could all change. Make sure you are across lots of social media platforms. The more places you can be found the better. It’s also a great idea to link them all so people can see your diverse range of platforms.
